Frey Ranch 10th Anniversary, Kentucky Derby 2025 and National Bourbon Week

🎉 Frey Ranch Celebrates 10 Years with a Bold New Release

Frey Ranch Distillery is celebrating a decade of whiskey-making with the launch of the Harvester Series: 10th Anniversary Edition—a limited five-grain American whiskey that marks a first for the Nevada-based distillery. Crafted in collaboration with master blender Nancy Fraley, this 121.14-proof expression features all five grains grown on the ranch: corn, rye, wheat, malted barley, and oats. The addition of oats adds unique graham cracker and anise notes, distinguishing it from Frey Ranch’s traditional four-grain bourbon. Expect a soft, dessert-like profile with flavors of custard, marshmallow, milk chocolate, and pine nut. Only 500 bottles have been produced, retailing at $250 and available starting April 26, 2025, through the distillery, online, and at select Nevada retailers.

🏇 Kentucky Derby 2025: Bourbon, Art, and Mint Juleps

Woodford Reserve, the official bourbon of the Kentucky Derby, has released its 2025 commemorative bottle featuring vibrant artwork by Louisville-based Cuban artist Humberto Lahera. His piece, Carrera Dinamica, captures the energy and excitement of Derby Day. The one-liter bottle, priced at $49.99, is available worldwide via ReserveBar, the Woodford Reserve Distillery, and online.

Other distilleries are joining the celebration: Evan Williams’ limited-edition Single Barrel Bourbon comes dipped in silver wax and includes a gold Pegasus Pin. Meanwhile, Buffalo Trace was back up and running this weekend after recent flooding shut down operations.

Fun fact: an estimated 125,000 mint juleps were enjoyed this year, and the horse Sovereignty took home the Derby crown.

🥃 Raise a Glass: National Bourbon Week Returns to Bardstown

From June 10–15, 2025, Bardstown, Kentucky—the Bourbon Capital of the World—will host the second annual National Bourbon Week™. The celebration features distillery-hosted events, educational sessions, tastings, and community gatherings across Bardstown.

Participating distilleries include Bardstown Bourbon Company, Heaven Hill, Maker’s Mark, James B. Beam, Log Still, and more. A standout event, The Mash Up, pairs local distillers and chefs for a night of bourbon and bites at the new Bespoke in Bond venue. Saturday’s festivities will take over downtown Bardstown, including a Kids Zone, a beer garden, summer shopping deals, and of course, plenty of bourbon.
