New Riff Turns 10, Old Dominick Wins Double Gold and High Wire Distilling
New Riff Turns 10 – And They're Celebrating with a Bold Bourbon & Rye Drop
New Riff just hit a major milestone – 10 years of making whiskey – and they’re celebrating the best way they know how: with whiskey that’s been aging for a full decade. For the first time ever, the Northern Kentucky distillery is releasing 10-year-old bourbon and rye, and both bottles are looking like collector-worthy pours.
The Bottles:
These aren’t your average releases. Both the First Decade Bourbon and First Decade Rye are bottled-in-bond and barrel proof (120.5 to be exact), unfiltered, and full of deep, mature flavor.
Bourbon: Made with 65% corn, 30% rye, and 5% malted barley, it’s got big notes of cinnamon coffee cake, cherry cola, and oaky spice. Think dessert, but with a peppery kick.
Rye: This one’s a 95/5 rye/malted rye blend with flavors of mint, dark fruit, plum, and a long peppery finish. It’s herbal, spicy, and rich—everything a rye lover could ask for.
How to Get It:
Here’s the catch: these bottles are only available through the New Riff Whiskey Club. The good news? It’s free to join. The better news? Each bottle is priced at just $89.99—pretty reasonable for 10-year age statements, especially at barrel proof.
Available Starting Today – May 22
The release dropped last week, and they’re expected to go fast. If you’re anywhere near the distillery in Newport, KY, pickup is available once you order through the Whiskey Club.
Final Thoughts:
New Riff has always played the long game, focusing on quality and patience over hype. These First Decade releases are a big “thank you” to fans who’ve followed them from the start—and a major flex for what’s to come in their second decade.

High Wire Distilling Co.: Whiskey That Tells a Story
Let’s talk about whiskey—but not just any whiskey. We’re talking about bold, flavorful spirits made with rare heirloom grains, deep roots in Southern soil, and a serious respect for craft. Meet High Wire Distilling Co., a standout gem in Charleston, SC that’s changing how we think about bourbon.
Founded by husband-and-wife team Scott Blackwell and Ann Marshall in 2013, High Wire is all about doing things the hard way—the right way. Their approach? Source heritage grains, partner with local farmers, and distill whiskey that’s as rich in flavor as it is in history.
Their crown jewel? Jimmy Red Straight Bourbon. This stuff is special. It’s made from 100% Jimmy Red corn, a nearly extinct variety that was once a moonshiner favorite. High Wire helped bring it back from the brink (literally down to two cobs), and now it’s the star of their flagship bourbon. The flavor is unreal—think graham cracker, vanilla, cinnamon, and maple with a super smooth, creamy finish.
But Jimmy Red isn’t the only star. High Wire’s lineup of whiskeys and bourbons all showcase unique grains and thoughtful aging that highlight what small-batch craft spirits are all about. Each bottle reflects their dedication to quality, storytelling, and the idea that whiskey should be more than just a drink—it should be an experience.
From grain to glass, they handle everything in their downtown Charleston distillery. And their use of local grains and sustainable practices means your next pour supports real farmers and real land—not just a label.
If you love bourbon with backbone, flavor, and a whole lot of soul, High Wire is worth getting to know. Your bar cart (and your taste buds) will thank you.
